Frequently Asked Questions: Limitations

Is cc-Pulse limited to scheduling 1,000 tasks?

No, cc-Pulse is not limited to scheduling 1,000 tasks. You are limited by the amount of memory available to Microsoft Project.

Why is linking summary tasks to other tasks not allowed?

The problem with linking summary tasks to anything is that the summary tasks are not a valid model of the sub tasks underneath.

The summary bar represents the span from the scheduled start of the first child, to the scheduled finish of the latest child.

This is a deterministic model, and does not represent the expected span of the sub tasks, nor does it have any way to represent the safe span of the sub tasks.

Summary tasks are useful for organizing the tasks, but must not be used to affect the position of the sub tasks.
