Can I install and use cc-Pulse when I have ProChain?

Yes.

We have tested cc-Pulse with ProChain installations, and have found no software conflict issues.

If you want to run cc-Pulse on a file that has been scheduled with ProChain, we recommend that you make a copy of the file, and remove the buffers using ProChain before scheduling with cc-Pulse.

cc-Pulse will need to remove the actual start dates for tasks that have actual starts but no progress. This is done through the Evaluation screen, and there is a button that will remove those actual starts automatically.

Can I install and use cc-Pulse when I have Concerto?

Yes, with two cautions:

1. If you launch MS Project from the Concerto Planning Client, Concerto will attempt to communicate with MS Project while the Splash Screen for your Spherical Angle product is loading, and Concerto will fail.

Correct this by launching MS Project before launching the Concerto Planning Client, or else follow the instructions to disable your Spherical Angle product through COM Add-ins.

2. if you have the full installation of Concerto Web, you may have problems saving to the Looking Glass Database.

These problems are related to custom access permission settings. To correct, follow the steps below.

Run dcomcnfg (Start > Run > type dcomcnfg)
Select Microsoft Excel Application from Component Services,DCOM Config
Select properties
Select security tab
Change the access permissions from custom to default.

Server 2003 does support these project-project relationships.

Can I use cc-Pulse with a resource Pool?

Yes, we have designed cc-Pulse to work with a shared resource pool. There are Leveling Options in the Control Center that control how cc-Pulse uses the resource pool. You can also use Enterprise Resources through Project Central/Server.

Can people with only MSProject installed on their computer read files produced using ccPulse and view and read the reports on their system?

Yes.

Anyone with MS-Project installed can view and manipulate the cc-Pulse files.
They will be unable to do scheduling or updates unless they have cc-Pulse installed.

The reports in cc-Pulse can be saved as web pages, so anyone with an Internet browser, and access to the web page can view the reports. The reports can also be attached to an e-mail, as HTML.
